Jungle Jim’s International Market

Chances are you’ve heard of Jungle Jim’s International Market. With themed vendor areas, exotic food offerings and cuisine from more than 70 countries, the market is a destination. But since 2008, Jungle Jim’s has been offering more than just groceries. The Oscar Event Center at Jungle Jim’s Fairfield location can also help clients present their corporate gatherings with international flair. 

The Oscar Event Center sources from the market, with options ranging from classic plated meals to the center’s specialty food stations featuring a variety of global cuisines. The Asian station offers Korean beef  bulgoli, kimchi, herbed rice and yum yum sauce, while the Spanish station includes paella, grilled zucchini and gazpacho.

“We did have one wedding that just did the Asian station and the seafood station as their meal,” says Amanda Tamburello, general manager of  The Oscar Event Center. “It was really cool because it allowed more people to talk amongst themselves.”

Standout entrees include the elk strip loin with onion marmalade and Malbec butter and the ratatouille puff pastry with eggplant hummus. One of Tamburello’s favorite side dishes is the Okinawa sweet potatoes with ginger coconut curry and crushed candied almonds.
