3 Ohio Meeting Venues for Spring
As the first signs of spring begin to pop up across Ohio, head to these meeting venues that offer cherry blossom walks, ballpark views and quaint spaces ideal for hosting meetings.
Cleveland Museum of Art | Cleveland
Inspire attendees by hosting your next meeting among the Cleveland Museum of Art’s encyclopedic collection that spans works from throughout human history. The museum can accommodate groups as small as 20 and as large as 2,000, and it offers a variety of different spaces, including a private dining room, recital hall, auditorium and classrooms.
Spring proves to be an especially appealing time thanks to the beauty of the museum’s cherry blossom trees, which line the lagoon outside. The trees’ pink blossoms sway in the spring breezes and provide a peaceful setting for a break-time walk.
The museum’s most unique space is its soaring atrium, a 32,000-square-foot area just beyond the main entrance that can be rented for special events. Of course, no visit to the Cleveland Museum of Art is complete without the opportunity to explore the works within the galleries.
“We have professional educators on staff, people can go on their own, people do treasure hunts in here.” says Lisa Codispoti, chief operating and people officer at the Cleveland Museum of Art. “They do all sorts of stuff to make it fun and interesting, but also that [ensure] people walk away having learned something and having had some type of an experience that was important to them.”
Docent-led tours are also available for those who want to learn more about the art, and if there are ticketed exhibitions going on at the museum the same day as a private event, admission can be added on for attendees to keep the fun going. 11150 East Blvd., Cleveland 44106, 216-421-7350, clevelandart.org
Hensville | Toledo
Take your meeting out to the ballgame. Hensville in downtown Toledo offers a variety of options in and around Fifth Third Field, home to the Toledo Mud Hens, a triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The most popular meeting locations are within the building at 406 Washington St. attached to the ballpark, particularly its four Roost rooms, which offer views of the on-field action during game days. 406 Washington St., Toledo 43604, 419-725-4367, hensvilletoledo.com
Ohio University Inn and Conference Center | Athens
Enjoy the peaceful, country-inn setting of this hotel that offers seven meeting areas, including a ballroom with a 150-person capacity. Attendees can hold breakout meetings in smaller areas, including an outdoor patio. This inn’s outdoor space is also great for receptions and dinners, which are catered by the hotel’s on-site restaurants. Plus, visitors are a short walk from uptown Athens’ shops and restaurants. 331 Richland Ave., Athens 45701, 740-593-6661, ouinn.com
